ABOUT THE AREA
Beneixama, is the town that gives its name to the valley in which it is incardinated, between the Sierra de la Solana and the Fontanella, adjacent to the towns of Biar, Baneres, Campo de Mirra and Fontanars dels Aforins, and halfway between the province of Alicante and Valencia.
This town is located in the source of the Vinalopo River, between Sierra de Solana and Sierra de Biar; it developed an agriculture that currently has been specialized in rainfed trees such as fruit trees, vines that produce quality wine, almond and olive trees. it also has an important industrial activity of textile; conserves interesting cultural traditions, and offers good gastronomy.
Beneixama is a town of which we have been able to find testimonies of the islamic period (as its name indicates), although it will be with the conquest of Jaime i that it will be incorporated into the new kingdom of Valencia and Western civilization.
After several historical vicissitudes, the fruits of various wars, especially that of the Succession, Beneixama will achieve its definitive independence in the late eighteenth century.
