SRS Vehicle Services,
One positive to emerge from the covid 19 crisis is that it has opened up a whole new world of opportunity for those with the ambition and vision to see it. On offer here is a fantastic opportunity to own a successful motor vehicle business in Southern Spain.
This is a sale of a fully working garage with all the tools and equipment included, literally a turnkey business. There is also a small fleet of hire cars and some race cars that are hired out for track days.
The property contains a garage with 800 sq meters of floor space, 250 sq meters of mezzanine floor storage, and a 1-bed apartment (furnished fully with air-conditioned reception and office space). The property also has all the official operating and safety licences. These licences are notoriously hard to get approved in Spain, and the fact the business has them really does highlight both the excellent work done so far and also the potential for future development. The safety features needed to acquire the licence include a full fire alarm system with the extinguishers and break glass points, an alarm system and security cameras.
Everything goes with the sale, all cars, tools and equipment plus all specialist tools, all the spares that are left, all oils and lubricants, spare wheels tires, etc. There is also a fully equipped tire fitting room and a fitted fabrication room with welders drills and saws. There is an apartment that a security man lives in, and he is prepared to stay on with the new owner to help with all the running. As well as car maintenance and repairs, the company also runs a car rental service with the race cars as a rental business for track days.
Famed for its glorious climate, stunning beaches, remote mountain-ridge villages and charming towns and villages, the beautiful province of Andalucia is widely known as one of the most desirable places across Europe to live and work. Spain has also always had a great association with motorsport and that is one of the reasons why this business has been so successful down the years.
Located in Zurgena, near the city of Almeria, the business is perfectly located to take advantage of the huge passion for cars in the region and also specialises in areas that are relevant in terms if dealing with the warm climate, such as air conditioning and tyre services. As well as the business itself, the owner will also be investing into a beautiful part of Spain that is just a short drive to many of the stunning beaches, resorts and golf courses that make this region so iconic. Zurgena is also a great base from which to visit the vast array of stunning places in the region such as nearby Malaga and Murcia.
Sports and leisure fans will be delighted with the amount of picturesque walking, cycling, water sports and fishing areas in the vicinity and golf fans will be intrigued by the many excellent golf courses nearby such as Desert Springs Golf Club and Club Marina Golf Mojacar.
The area is also very well-connected transport wise locally, with excellent roads and public transport, and internationally via sea and air. The nearest international airport is Almeria Airport.
FURTHER DETAiLS ON THE BUSiNESS
SRS Vehicle Services began operations in the UK in 2006, building our own cars for competition. We began in the Motorsport field which is a passion of Barry’s (Barry Satterthwaite) which is shared by many. However, Barry’s Motorsport career began in 1981 when he rallied alongside many now famous names including the late Colin McRae, Malcolm Wilson, and Jimmy McRae and many more. He then went on to have a fully sponsored Cosworth drive for Ford. in 2006 Barry founded the company which soon began to develop due to customer demand and started taking in repairs, servicing, and modifications for road going cars.
When he moved to Spain, he continued his work within the UK Motorsport world as a member of Hagley and District. However, as it was noticed a need for car hire within the local area, he launched SRS Car Hire in April 2011. With minimal advertising astounding success was achieved. After many requests from our regular customers, we opened the SRS Vehicle Services based in Los Carasoles in May 2012.
We aim to provide an honest, value for money service to our local area. The customer experience is at the centre of our philosophy of how we operate. We employ English mechanics with different mechanical backgrounds so we can cover a whole host of repairs. This can also help to avoid any communication difficulties when you are explaining your situation or problem. We provide all our services to the standard we would be delighted with as if we were a customer ourselves.

The pretty inland village of Zurgena is a municipality of Almeria province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Zurgena is located in the Almanzora valley close to the towns of Albox, Huercal-Overa and Los Carasoles. it is a 40 minute drive from the tourist resorts of Mojacar Playa, Vera Playa and Garrucha and about 1 hour 30 minutes from Almeria City.
Being also situated very close to the E15 motorway this permits easy and safe access to the Spanish airports of Murcia, Almeria and Alicante and the golf course of Dessert Springs, Valle del Este golf, Aguilon golf and Marina golf.
Zurgena is a traditional Spanish village where the general hustle and bustle of village life is centred around the village square and it’s 5 bars which all serve tapas long into the evening. Other facilities include a kiddies’ play park the newly constructed sports barn, 2 mini-markets, a bakers, 2 banks and two conveyance stores. The principal industry around the area continues to be farming.
The Almanzora river separates Zurgena from the neighbouring village of La Alfoquia which lies on the other side of a road bridge just over one kilometre away. if you want to extend your shopping trip, La Alfoquia has more shops for you to browse which includes an electrical shop, a bakery, a hardware shop, boutique, banks, butchers, tobacconist and a petrol station. The town also has an English run fish and chip shop, where traditional fish and chips can be eaten in or taken away.
A small number of Brits have settled in the area which is served by an English-speaking pharmacy and doctors. The school system offers primary and secondary education, and a school bus service is available at no charge.
Zurgena is said to host one of the best festivals within this area. For one week in August the town come alive with the arrival of international entertainers and a fun fair with rides for all ages. La Alfoquia festival take place in June which is also a lively affair with celebrations continuing throughout the night.

During the 15th century Zurgena and La Alfoquia were fort over by the Moors and Christians on several occasions before the armies of the Christian Kings finally won the day. Unfortunately a lot of Zurgena history was lost when the Survey and Population books were lost. The Parish Church of San Ramon Nonato is one of the most notable places to visit. Built in 1558 to 1570, the fabulous Mudejar woodwork still survives.
