ABOUT THE AREA

El Rafol de Almunia is located approximately 1 hour to either Alicante or Valencia Airports, 15 minutes to Junction 62 on the AP7 Motorway. The Marina Alta, which is famous for the beautiful orange groves and picturesque mountains and the blue flag beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, can be seen from many properties in the community.

El Rafol d’Almunia descends from Arabic however there is no history until 1306 when historian Sanchis Sivera was lordship of the Rois de Corella.

The town hall was established in 1856 and the first major was Jose Miralles Mut who was succeeded six months later by Francisco Jose Ferrer Pastor and since then there have been over 50 Majors.

The town hall care for their community by providing various courses for all different ages. Even training to help people start or get back to work.

it is a very pretty Spanish town, with shops, bars, restaurants, bread shop, chemist, sports centre and much more. There is also a community swimming pool, basketball and football and various other places for activities.

The historical church is the centre of the town and only has around 700-800 habitants which makes it unspoilt. San Francesc de Paula is a beautiful church situated in the plaza with a couple of coffee shops and benches to enjoy the blue skies in the background.
