Stunning 3 Bedroom Omega Cottage for sale in Bohocogram Sneem County Kerry ireland
Omega Cottage , Bohocogram
Omega Cottage was originally an old fisherman’s cottage and was renovated about twenty years ago.
it has been modernized and enlarged quite a bit. From a two-bedroom to a three-bedroom plus added studio and decking outside the ground floor bedroom which faces West. The Kitchen was recently renovated, added pine floors throughout and a new kitchen with a gas/electric cooker. And a small Stanley wood burner in the living room.
Upstairs are two bedrooms with a bathroom between and Velux windows in one bedroom, the bathroom, and the hallway. Downstairs is the huge comfy kitchen, a small living room with one window facing Southeast and the other facing West. There is a large hallway with a shower room off that and a glass panel door to the downstairs bedroom.
i had a small studio for my artwork built off that and a large deck facing West. There is also a She Shed that can be used for just relaxing or as a studio, also a garden shed and a large seasoned woodpile. Over 100 Native irish trees early this year were planted and there are garden beds around the lawn and an enclosed area with two raised beds for growing your own vegetables. To the side of the house, protected by trees is an enclosed dog run, the oil storage tank for the oil-fired central heating, and the natural well water pump.
The property faces South East towards the Bay of Kenmare with mountains to the side and behind the house. There is only one neighbor and they are away most of the time as they own the food shop in the village . The property has right of way from the main road down to a track that leads to the Bay.
This is an area of outstanding beauty, well known for the little coves with beaches where people can swim all year round. The Dark Night Reserve is less than a mile away and the Wild Atlantic Way goes to the Atlantic Ocean with fantastic views, beaches, and resorts . The village of Sneem is about five miles from the cottage and thru mountains that are absolutely gorgeous in the distance, breathtaking and different every time you see them.
Sneem is a unique village, full of character and lots of charm with murals painted on many of the houses and shops by a local artist. There is a primary school, pharmacy, two small food shops, a Resource Centre, a lovely hotel just outside the village and a rousing river flowing thru, dividing the village in half. The Parkinsilla Resort and Golf course is also just outside the village and a great attraction for visitors. Also, lots of great pubs and really good restaurants and cafes make for a very interesting, friendly village. The larger town of Kenmare is about 30 miles away and Killarney about 40, thru the most spectacular mountains you will ever see in ireland. The closest airport is outside Tralee and there is also one near Cork. You have the peace and serenity of the countryside, views, the sea, and the mountains and not too far away, towns and other amenities. Beautiful place to enjoy living.
